Transforming the Future: An explorative project to define the role of design education in this, our emerging ecologically aware society.

It brings together Transition Town Totnes Arts and Sustainable Design in Higher Education.  Comprising a teacher from each institution (GSA, HDK Göteborg, Les Ateliers Paris and Plymouth University), students from Plymouth University, Glasgow School of Art and Dartington College of Art and members of the Transition Movement and stakeholders in the project to enact 2 live projects as a vehicle to:

• Share current expertise and experience in educating in this arena

• Collaboratively engage in the development of new tools and methods

• Engage with a Transition community

Collectively, those involved in this project have much to share in the area of sustainable design for future society and demonstrate a cross cultural, cross discipline and internationally diverse approach. Whilst having experience of such work the partners understand and are willing to proactively engage in the need to broaden and deepen their knowledge.

The project runs from Monday 30th March to Saturday 4th April 2009
